Formålet med anskaffelsen er å sikre riktig bekledning til Sikkerhetstjenesteavdelingens personell som har uniformsplikt. I tillegg åpnes det for at andre avdelinger i DSS som benytter dress som arbeidsantrekk, kan bestille effekter ved behov. I tillegg kan det være behov for noe rådgivning.
